Tonight I witnessed one of the most disgraceful acts by a professional entertainer ever. As a long time fan of R. Kelly’s music, I along with my husband and many others in Starkville, MS purchased tickets to what was promoted as a concert for R. Kelly. The tickets were a present to my husband who has been a fan of R. Kelly’s music for years, and who I can say was his number one fan in this area. We put a lot of time and money into going to this concert at the Remington Hunt Club tonight to see R. Kelly perform; instead, we saw that fame and fortune does not equal a good human being. R. Kelly did not perform. He did not speak. Fans who supported him were lied to and manipulated for a profit. This was promoted as a concert but in actuality, it was a disgrace to true fans. We may be a small town, but we deserve more respect and consideration. We waited for nearly four hours and paid our hard earned money to see R.Kelly walk in and without saying a word to his fans, pick out twelve barely dressed women to drink one glass of champagne with on the side of the stage and leave. There was no concert, no songs, not a thank you for coming or a thank you for supporting him. There was nothing. This nearly caused a riot that could have injured me and many of his fans. I just want to say thank you to artists like Trey Songz, Lloyd, and Bobby Valentino who came to Starkville, MS and gave their all at their concerts here. People need to know the truth about what happened this night. We idolize celebrities, but we never know their true characters. What R. Kelly did was a shock, and a testimony that fame and wealth do not necessarily mean integrity. We have lost all respect for this person. Be careful who you support. Thank you.

You have to remember there are at least 2 sides of the story and then, there is the truth. I hate you had such a bad experience and disappointment recently. I too feel your pain. I have been let down by so many artists but you have to realize that the local promoters don't always tell the truth. We also have to remember that these artists are human too. Sometimes these promoters misrepresent the shows they are promoting in order to sell more tickets and from what I understand, this was the case in Mississippi. The show was misrepresented as a concert and it was suppose to be an appearance. I hear from time to time, Kellz, may sing a song or two during these appearances, but due to the confusion and atmosphere of the event, he chose not to.
Anyway, despite it all, I will continue to be a fan and I hope you will too. Remember, you haven't heard his (R. Kelly's) side, so don't be so quick to judge.

The same night R. Kelly was in Starkville, Ms he came to Freelons in Jackson,Ms for Deuce birthday party after he left there. He came almost at club closing time which was fine with me, because I wasn't going to leave until I saw him. He performed a few minutes of several different songs. He even called a few women on stage with him and poured them champagne as they chilled beside him. What a lucky bunch of women! As the night came to and end I was happy that I got the chance to be in the same space with him but, sad at the same time that I let him get away without getting close to him. I was prepared to stay til day light if I thought I had a chance to meet him! When I was leaving out of the club, he was rolling by in the parking lot with the windows down ,and I walked to his truck and got a chance to not only meet him, but the opportunity to hold his hand and talk to him! The first thing I let him know was how I respected him as an artist because, I didn't want him to think I was a groupie trying to get at him. He is use to that anyway, but boy I can imagine it would've been nice!. At one point I just stared into his eyes and didn't say a word because I couldn't believe it was really him. One thing I can say about him is that most stars would brush you off and make you feel like nothing, but Robert Kelly made me proud to be a fan, well more than a fan in my world! He was down to earth. I don't play with God nor do I put any man above him, but I thank God for that chance he allowed me to meet him! What a dream come true! I hope he comes back to Ms real soon! I have been telling everyone about my what I call "The R Kelly Experience". Leolady will always love her some Kell!

Hey look don't make excuses for bad behavior, If R. kelly showed his ass off, Somebody should tell him, and this is the Forum.. All these yes people is the reason Michael Jackson is sleeping in eternity, you get so big and all these ass kisser come aboard,onlyfor the pay checks, steady eddie. and he gets what he wants.. He is a human being, and just maybe that nite the muthaf***er, didn"t want to be R.Kelly.. He wanted to Robert S. Kelly. So understand that and leave it alone, If you wanna go to his concerts or where ever he shows up fine, Leave him alone, Respect his privacy, and enjoy the f***ing music, He ain't God.
