This is (one of my) favorite Kellz albums! I try not to label his music because I believe that he is ALWAYS right on point w/the ways of the world.. But this album was like timeless, had Loveland not leaked it would have been directly tied in to Chocolate Factory... This proves that the Grammy's know nothing of great music, because this should have one at least 3 awards that I can think of off top. My fav. on this CD is "Dream Girl".... Because I can close my eye's and "Imagine That" it was written for me
....
This album proves that R. Kelly is the KING of R&B. I think this album took him back to the "Born Into The '90's" LP. Alot of people forget that R. Kelly has always been HIP HOP/R&B he rapped 70% of the 1st album and continues it on Double Up... My favorite song is The Zoo, mainly because I love when he previews a song at concerts before it drops! Double Up is not "classic kellz" but its definitely a hit! Hell I purchased it 3times!
Most Persoanl
This is seemingly R. Kelly's most PERSONAL album to date.... which is why I love it so much. He walks a fine line of love/lust/religion on this album. Many times the song begins seemingly speaking of a "woman" and ends speaking of God (Trade in my Life).....This album is soulful and powerful in many ways.... I'd personally love for him to re-release this album and just add a track or two w/maybe a couple videos and behind the scenes footage (hint, hint)
.... I'm glad this project was self entitled because this is a very revealing album... kudos
